Hello! My name is Navid Siddiqui. I am originally from Queens, New York but have permanently moved to Buffalo for school. I am finishing up on my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at the University at Buffalo. My future plan is to get my doctorate in physical therapy and continue to grow healthcare in Buffalo. I am currently a partner at Madina Pharmacy Inc. in Buffalo. I joined Weigel Health Promotion because of a 12 credit internship required at my school. However, I chose it because it allows me to engage with my peers about topics that I am passionate about. I’d like to make a positive change in the community especially on matters of physical and mental matters. I’d like to help people be more aware of and decrease things like substance abuse, sexual abuse, disease transmissions, physical inactivity, unhealthy life choices, etc. even just a little at Buffalo State. We have to better for us and others. I believe we were placed on this earth to make a positive difference and this is my way of giving back to the community I love.
Hello! My name is Ashley Fidler, and I am studying in the Social Work program. My plan is to obtain my Master’s in Social Work at U.B. I’m mainly interested in working at a mezzo level of social work, in which I will be promoting cultural and institutional change. I joined Weigel Health Promotion because the organization gives me the opportunity to work at a micro and mezzo level. Weigel Health Promotion also allows me to promote social and individual issues such as mental health, sexual/relationship health, and abuse prevention. My dream is to improve educational institutions within communities, and promote feminism, diversity, and social justice culturally and institutionally.
A quote I recently read from a bottle cap that I currently find inspiring;
“If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.”
My name is Jared. I am a Math major and hobbyist programmer. I don't know what I want to do when I graduate, but I really want to help my community. I chose Weigel Health Promotion because it's a great place where I can develop practical skills and help others. I would love to write a novel someday!

Hi, my name is Darran Booker and I am a 37 year old Business Management student returning to college after 12 years away. My goal is to start a nonprofit working with urban youth. I want to help build their future by finding those mentors, encouraging healthy living and answering tough moral questions. I also do a lot of volunteer work through the Buffalo State Alternative Break program, the SBDC (INCubator), and local nonprofit throughout buffalo local communities. Small facts: I went to film school, I love writing (Screenplays, Novels, Poetry and Comedy Jokes), and I can't dance even though I try when people aren't looking. I got one book published even though it is no longer on the marks. I don't consider myself a writer, but I do consider myself a story teller. So in a nutshell that is Darran.
