Great American Smoke Out
Description: Buffalo State is marking the Great American Smoke out by educating the campus community about our tobacco-free policy and encouraging smokers to use the date to make a plan to quit, or to plan in advance and quit smoking by that day. By doing so, smokers will be taking an important step towards a healthier life, one that can lead to reducing cancer risk.
Clean Sweep Contest
Description: Students and Student groups are invited to help clean up our campus by collecting as much cigarette butts/Tobacco paraphernalia (ex. Tobacco boxes, filters, chew cans, and vapes) as they can (Garbage bags and gloves provided by Weigel Health Promotions).
Tobacco Ambassador Program (TAP)
Description: Ambassadors do their parts by spreading the word about Buffalo State Tobacco-free policy and provide cessation information to all members of the Buffalo State Community. They provide the information necessary for people in our community to understand the policy, make the right choice and provide resources to assist them in quitting should they so choose.
Tobacco Free Tabling, CO Monitor
Description: See what is still in your lungs after using (or not using) tobacco products. Information sheets and pamphlets are distributed during tabling, and participate in other activities to learn more about Buffalo State’s tobacco free policy.
Do Your Part Photo Project: Living Our Best Life- Tobacco-Free
Description: The "Do Your Part Photo Project" is how Buffalo State can capture those that pledge to "do their part" and promote a responsible lifestyle in any number of ways including Tobacco-Free. Any individual, student, staff, faculty, group, organization, or department can contact us to schedule a time to take your picture or record your pledge.
