Take Back The Night (TBTN) is an uplifting experience designed to give back power to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Every year hundreds of Buffalo State College students participate in this event, which consists of survivors stories, poetry readings, invited speakers, song, dance, and much more.
Community and campus organizations will be present to support the cause, provide resources, and help raise awareness of sexual assault.
Students create, organize, and perform self-expression that is presented to the community during sexual assault awareness month (April).
The theme this year is “Clothing is NOT Consent.” Prior to the event, there will be a window-painting contest with Residence Life and a t-shirt decorating contest with campus groups and organizations which will be on display at TBTN.
Other activities leading up to TBTN will be posted on social media.
Buffalo State will also participate in the Walk A Mile in her Shoes event organized by Crisis Services on Sunday, April 30, at 2969 Main St Buffalo, NY 14214. Donations will be accepted online at Take Back The Night.
