Hello, my name is Paula Madrigal and I am the Assistant Director for Prevention and Health Promotion at the Weigel Health Center for Health Promotion. I have been with health promotions for over 4 years. I am very fortunate to be able to do what I love. I am also on the board of directors as the Region III representative for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and in October 2015 I completed my second term as the Director of the NASW New York State Chapter, Western Divsion and a member of the NASW NYS Board of Directors. I graduated with my BSW from Buffalo State in 2011 and my MSW from the UB School of Social Work as an Arthur Schomburg Fellow in 2012.
I have worked in the following areas: homeless/jail diversion, criminal justice, social justice, crisis intervention, mental health and substance abuse, advocacy and strategic planning. I love working at SUNY Buffalo State and have an amazing student peer education staff (from ALL majors)! I welcome students to come visit me, ask questions and learn more about Weigel Health Promotion. One fun fact about me: I am ½ Colombian and fluent in Spanish. It feels like a secret super power sometimes.
